There’s a character on my site who’s supposed to be a teenager and just…ugh! At least find younger pictures of the person, not ones where they’re sporting a Jesus beard.

EXCUSE ME BUT IT’S 2012 AND THERE’S STILL NOT AN OPTION TO HIGHLIGHT TEXT THAT’S IN ALL CAPS AND CHANGE IT TO LOWERCASE OR VICE VERSA AND IM SORRY BUT THAT’S BULLSHIT

You know what I would’ve loved?
Korra being the one to tell Asami that she kissed Mako and apologizing for it.
I also would’ve loved if she and Korra had to share rooms while Asami was staying over at Air Temple Island and they actually got girl time.
I want my girl time.
Stephanie: It’s not purple. It’s eggplant. Purple would’ve looked stupid.
Tim: Spoiler. Good timing.
This was the moment Stephanie won my heart forever.
No literally, the first stuff with Steph in it I read were her issues as Robin and the Jon Lewis Robin issues, which is actually why I liked Tim/Steph back them. Jon Lewis did a really good job writing Tim as a socially awkward geek who really tried his hardest to support Steph and cared about her. He didn’t condescend or try to control her under Lewis’s pen, and even had Tim being SUPER PISSED at Bruce for being mean to Steph. He was ADORABLE. I will always adore Jon Lewis!Tim.
And Steph clearly valued Tim in return, and Lewis handled her issues with sensitivity (he wrote one of the only comics I’ve seen that actually gave the dynamics of sexual assault a restrained and thorough examination. It wasn’t perfect, but he covered real stuff like rape culture and triggers and didn’t make sexual assault Steph’s motivation, just an unfortunate thing she had to deal with thanks to the rotten environment she was in).
I don’t care if his plots were a little weird, I wish he could have stayed on forever. I wonder what he’s doing now?
For those interested his run was Robin 100-119.
You served him well when serving was safe.
THIS is the problem Ned had with Jaime.
He’s not angry at Jaime for killing the king he swore allegiance to. He’s angry at the timing, the easy timing. Yes, it was a coincidence but that doesn’t register with Ned. He has a bad taste in his mouth about how the Lannisters acted in the war to begin with. Stop making it out like Ned is being stupid by being angry with Jaime, cause he’s not.
You served him well when serving was safe.
True this statement can be better served to Tywin, but it’s still the fucking truth. Stab him in the back, in the belly, whichever, he still waited. That’s the thing about Jaime, he’s never quite on time and he’s never quite sure.
And Ned is punctual as fuck.
#Gawd damn Ned is not this bumbling fool people keep making him out to be
i see them around a lot and i just wanted to remind you all that kate beaton comic parodies actually upset her and she really hates that everyone takes her comics and edits them into other fandoms and stuff, shes talked on her twitter about how its really discouraging and upsetting to her.
it would be really nice to respect her wishes and cool it on the beaton parodies ok?? you can make your own jokes and stuff but editing someone elses comic is kind of rude.
Jeez ok, I’ve been getting this one in the ol’ mailbox today quite a bit.
I don’t care if anyone traces my work. You can trace my work till the cows come home. Attribution is what I care about. If you read my tumblr or my website, you’ll note I take care to link back to where I found the image, I name the artist, I tell you to go there. Attribution is important for all artists, no matter who they are! And it’s exciting to share things and show people where to find even more of those things. Not attributing images, movies, music, etc to artists isn’t against the law or anything, and there’s nothing we can do if you don’t, but I hope people will get in the habit of it for things that they post. And the people who made those things totally appreciate it. Everybody ends up winning that way!
A question (nitpicking)(related)(I’m sorry): Is tracing comics and keeping the jokes and compositions what you would call a “parody?” I mean if the main things that change are superficial, like hair. Parody implies an imitation with exaggeration, not just the same thing with names changed. But I don’t know what I’d call it! I’ve been thinking about that since the first time it was brought up, but I guess if people want to call it a parody they can because I can’t think of anything better so WHO KNOWS.
But for real: a tracing of my work without attribution is small beans compared to posting someone’s original work without their name. And maybe you think that a copy is not the same as the original, so it’s a new piece of art that doesn’t need to be linked back to me. If we disagree, then we disagree, it’s not a big deal.
Anyway, no one needs to feel bad about having fun with comics. Have fun with comics! The person who wrote this meant well but I am not “upset” nor do I “hate” anyone. But I’ll keep promoting attribution in this wild west called the internet, because every time someone’s drawing gets 100 000 views on Funnyjunk or the Chive or whatever and no one has any idea who made it, a kitten sheds a tear.
- queer people don’t exist only for your shipping
- queer people don’t exist just so you can fap to the latest fic
- queer fetishizing is offensive to queer people because you’re dehumanizing them and using them as props to your shipping only
- queer-baiting is NOT QUEER REPRESENTATION and it’s offensive to actual queer people because it’s just two white het dudes dudes having imaginary sexual tension
- fandom doesn’t exist in a vacuum, it reflects society
- writers know the crazy fangirls love homoerotic subtext and they use that to lure in more of them but in reality they won’t do anything because heh heh those silly fangirls
- how about you actually support actual existing queer characters rather than white cis het dudes
- huh
